This soldiers love SHINES. This little girl could probably tell of countless ways this soldier has had a great impact in her and her families life.

Thanks for posting this wonderful report.

OK ~ stories like this should begin with "tissue alert!"

What a wonderful story. God Bless Sgt. Falcon. He's obvisouly a man with a heart and spirit the size of the universe. He could have given up, walked away, thrown in the towel but he perservered to help an innocent child. Our Soldiers will never stop amazing or inspiring me.

I don't know how I feel about this story. I mean, on the surface it's wonderful: an example of a soldier with a still functioning conscience helping an innocent child.

But when I take a deeper look, when I cut out the 'feel good' blaise of the story, what's the truth? What's hidden from sight? The most obvious point is that this girl lost her legs because of our invasion of Iraq. That her brother is dead, because of us. Her father's illness? Their poverty? Perhaps there is really 'no one to blame' but I can't help feeling responsible.

And now it seems they're gearing up for round two: Iran. Perhaps in a few years time we'll be reading heartwarming stories of how American soldiers are giving Iranian children prosthetic limbs.
You just twisted this report to hell to turn it into a hate America, America is bad rant.

In case you didn't notice "a roadside bomb" caused this and killed her brother. So are you telling me American soldiers planted this bomb? You need to get out of the hate america pattern you're in, or you'll never find truth in anything - you'll just continue in the downward spiral of indoctrination from socialist who want to destroy this country.

You're comment is BAD FORM.
When I read this story, I too noticed an underlying tone that could be construed and exploited to be a rant against the war and America. I debated whether to post this article or not because I wondered if anyone would use this to twist this into a hate america soapbox. I dissected this article for my own satisfaction because I don't want to post ANYTHING that clearly has a hidden Hate America agenda. I agree with Valor in that, the America the bad guy kind of thinking serves only to bolster the enemy, lose/prolong a war and ultimately destroys this country. I won't help with that agenda and that includes to give it a voice on my blog through a debate. I understand the horrors of war..I'm not a war monger . I would love a peaceful world to live in, as i'm sure every soldier that has ever fought a war has wished for. I'm sure they have moments when they reflect and wonder if they are making a difference. It is through evaluation that we connect with our gratitude and trek through our doubts to work even harder to make life count...to make a difference with every moment. Sgt Falcon demonstrated this so wonderfully, as did the U.S. Creator of that clinic. Bravo to them both and the thousands more who truly are making strides and a positive difference. I am truly AMAZED at our soldiers over in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are unbelievable. They go to great lengths to build trust and try and work with the people to HELP them build a democracy that will ultimately lead to a safer world. They are not only warriors.. they are diplomats, caregivers, teachers, and so much more with every step they take. Every little moment.. every good deed done is a step in the right direction. They go to great lengths at protecting the Iraqi people from those that wish to create instability and seek to use and kill their own to further their cause. We have to stop feeding the terrorists and the extremists with our own self destructive propaganda or every positive step taken will not take hold. I choose to work WITH our soldiers to win this war and I choose to shine the light on the great work being done. So back to shining the spotlight on Sgt Falcon where it belongs. I agree with Tankerbabe ...he has the heart the size of the universe. Our soldiers continue to inspire and amaze me every single day!

Another example of the lion's heart of a true American soldier. I am never surprised by the compassion and tenacity of our soldiers. Wonderful story.
::yawn:: Twist the facts I do not, but in your sleep you cannot see, nor can you admit, responsibility.

IEDs didn't show up in Iraq until after we invaded. Regardless who placed them there, if we had not invaded this girl would still have her legs, her brother would still be alive - those are the facts.

You also miss my second point - all signs point to the Neo-cons reving up for Iran. Iranian children will suffer, and die just as Iraqi children have. This is the fruit of our labor.

I don't hate America. I love her dearly. She's being raped right now though, by monsters claiming to be patriots, and if you can't see that there's nothing I can say to show you. You have to see it for yourselves.
